I had an amazing weekend –but with all things, it came to an end.
Thursday’s PaintBar was a blast! It was probably the company I had (: But, it really was a lot of fun. I did learn that I am not as good at painting as I had thought I would be …but I wasn’t the worst either ha-ha! Plus, it was my first time trying this painting thing, and a couple of the regulars told us to keep coming back...that it really does improve (as with most things you practice, I am sure :D).
Before the painting, we stopped in at UMI – this sushi place. The sushi was fantastic and we got to hangout and chat. When we were done painting it was a little after 9:30p.m., and we didn’t want to go home yet, so we stopped in at Cheesecake Factory for dessert and coffee, which was delicious. I tried their red velvet cheesecake and YUM. We had some hilarious conversations, and didn’t leave until it was almost midnight. Overall, a fantastic night.
I do have cell phone pictures from that night, since Patricia was right and there was barely any room for our wine/beer, never mind my huge camera. I’ll post them at the end.
I did bring the NIKON with me to the Soccer game on Friday though. That night started out good, got edgy early on, but then ended on a high note. When we left the house, we were all exited of course… that ended when we got stuck in 3 hours of traffic! The last 1 hour of traffic was literally 20 feet from the stadium (okay, not literally, but you get my point). We almost missed the beginning of the game and we left early! I told my brother the only way I’d do that again is if we took half a day and left a LOT earlier …. Like 2pm early. HA-HA.
Butttttt once we got there, and settled in our seats, it was a lot of fun. Being around my dad who gets so into the game is the best part. It’s great to see him so excited (or angry at the players ha-ha). My uncle/aunt seemed to have a great time too, which was good (: Portugal ended up scoring the winning goal literally with ONE minute left to the game (in overtime +3min). It was easy to get carried up in the screaming and jumping around when they made the goal … It was fun.
After the game we ‘tailgated’ at our friend Mike’s car. They made up burgers and hot dogs. We didn’t want to sit in another 3 hours of traffic, but after about 40min, dad started to shiver uncontrollably, so we decided to at least go sit in the van and wait out the traffic. Since we arrived so late, we ended up parking in Timbuctoo….Which ended up working out for us, because this lady was giving cars a ‘fast’ way out, which surprisingly only a handful of the cars were taking. Everyone else was staying in the bumper to bumper traffic, which boggled my mind. We literally go out of there in 15 minutes … which was a miracle considering the amount of traffic. I thank GOODNESS for that lady, or we wouldn’t have gotten home until like 5am hahaha.
Saturday I was so tired lol, and spent the whole day in and playing World of Warcraft – which is always fun for me. Sunday, I hung out with the family. It was “Portugal Day”, so there was a huge festival parade in town, and then a festival party at the Portuguese Club a few streets from me. I outgrew those things years ago, but dad went by and got us some food. We sat out back and enjoyed the food, and the music (which manages to reach us from the club) without all the hassle of the crowds haha. I think my brothers and Trisha ended up going, but I just can’t stand those things anymore – everyone judges everyone at them, it’s so immature.
So that was my wonderful weekend … I had yesterday off too to kind of ‘relax’ and prepare myself mentally for another work week … lmao. I gotta have those days from time to time. It was a cloudy/rainy day too, so it was a perfect ‘day in’ type of day.
Anywho, below are pictures from Thursday – I have been lazy and haven’t taken the ones from the game off my camera yet, so those will be later (: These are cell phone quality so not the best … lol.
Sushi and a cocktail drink (something raspberry, now I can’t remember)

Another fruity drink at UMI I can’t remember … I do remember Diane saying it tasted like fruity Sake.
